Welcome words and scope

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are very pleased to invite you to Palermo (Italy) for the International Conference on Wider-Uptake of Water Resource Recovery from Wastewater Treatment (ICWRR2024). The major aim is to create a forum for promoting the discussion amongst scientists, professionals and academia in different areas of the broader theme of water resource recovery from water treatment. The event is the final conference of the 4-year EU project: Achieving Wider-Uptake of water smart solutions – Wider-Uptake. Eminent keynote wastewater treatment and modelling experts will foster multidisciplinary collaboration and dialogue.

The Conference will cover a wide range of themes from innovative and nature-based solutions for water and wastewater management to circularity assessment tools and environmental policy and legislation.

We are pleased to invite the Conference researchers, engineers, and water practitioners from academia, industry, water utilities, public authorities and administration to exchange know-how and experiences. We also hope that your participation to the Conference in Palermo will provide you the opportunity to explore the rest of Italy, to savor its diverse and rich mixture of ethnic traditions, culture, cuisine and religious sites. We look forward to welcoming you to the colorful and vibrant city of Palermo and see you in 2024.
